Now that the primaries are over, President Obama has made it official with a big time endorsement of Hillary Clinton.
On Thursday President Obama put out a web video of his very strong endorsement of the presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
He said, “I don’t think there’s ever been someone so qualified to hold this office.”
“I want those of you who have been with me since the beginning of this incredible journey to be the first to know that I’m with her. I am fired up. And I can’t wait to get out there and campaign with Hillary.”
Obama congratulated Clinton on the historical achievement of becoming the nation’s first female nominee of a major political party. And he acknowledged her hard fought victory in the primary process.
He also congratulated Bernie Sanders on running a great campaign and on energizing the Democratic Party.
Even though Hillary wrapped up the nomination with the delegate count, the real pivot to the general election can certainly be felt now with this official endorsement by the President. And other Democratic Party leaders who have been sitting on the sidelines neutral throughout the primaries are quickly rallying around Hillary as well. According to sources, Senator Elizabeth Warren is also ready to endorse Hillary.
All of this is excellent news because we will need a strong united front to defeat Donald Trump this fall.
