Instead of attacking a federal judge because of his Mexican heritage, this week Donald Trump has turned his erratic senseless attacks onto President Obama with a new insane conspiracy theory.
Donald Trump made the rounds Monday on all of the morning talk shows to talk about the aftermath of the weekend’s terror attack in Orlando. He suggested that because Obama won’t say the words “radical Islamic terrorism” that he must not only step down as President….which is insane all on its own….but also that “something else is going on.”
Now it’s not like Donald Trump isn’t a huge believer in insane conspiracy theories, because he is. So the fact that he’s now going after Obama for being a terrorist sympathizer or for somehow having something to do with terror attacks probably shouldn’t surprise us.
Here’s just a few of Trump’s favorite conspiracy theories before today….
1. Asbestos is actually safe.
2. Climate Change is a hoax.
3. There is no real drought in California.
4. Obama was born in Kenya.
5. Obama is a Muslim.
6. Obama never went to Columbia.
7. Thousands of Muslims celebrated 9/11 in the streets of New Jersey.
8. The Clintons murdered Vince Foster.
9. Vaccines cause autism.
10. Supreme Court Justice Scalia was murdered with a pillow.
11. Ted Cruz’s dad had something to do with JFK’s murder.
12. Refugees are entering the U.S. with cell phone plans paid for by ISIS.
The insane attacks today on Obama are unprecedented attacks against the President, implying that Obama is committing treason and reiterating Trump’s earlier assertions that Obama is an illegitimate President who is not an American. But he is also blowing the dog whistle to all bigots to go after Muslims and painting Obama as the ultimate evil Muslim and Muslim sympathizer.
During his call-in with Fox & Friends, Trump said, “He doesn’t get it or he gets it better than anybody understands. It’s one or the other.”
Clearly, Trump is implying that Obama has an evil secret….and it’s obviously something that’s anti-American or meant for American destruction. Trump seriously seems to be implying that Obama is somehow in on the terror attacks.
“We’re led by a man that either is not tough, not smart, or he’s got something else in mind,” Trump continued. “And the something else in mind, you know, people can’t believe it. People cannot—they cannot believe that President Obama is acting the ways he acts and can’t even mention the words radical Islamic terrorism. There’s something going on. It’s inconceivable.”
Now, we all know that Trump often spouts off the cuff and is known for saying things that he may not mean and later has to walk back….so maybe he didn’t really mean such an incredibly offensive and frankly unbelievable statement, right? Wrong.
Since making the original statements, he’s only doubled down and repeated this insanity. As a matter of fact, he repeated it on Fox & Friends, Good Morning America, The Today Show, on CNN, and later in his speech on terrorism.
“There are a lot of people that think maybe he doesn’t want to get it,” he told Savannah Guthrie. ” A lot of people think maybe he doesn’t want to know about it. I happen to think he just doesn’t know what he’s doing.”
This kind of madness might be red meat for Trump’s base, but I think he’s going to find the reception of these comments about as warm as the reception for his comments about the federal judge. Good luck defending this one Republicans….you’re going to need it.
