Donald Trump claims that being vulgar and bragging about sexually assaulting women is just “locker room talk.” Well these professional athletes beg to differ.
On Friday, a new tape came out giving us yet another example of how Trump thinks about and treats women. The recording is from 2005 and features a conversation that Trump had with Billy Bush, who at the time was an anchor for Access Hollywood. The conversation was caught on a hot mike and it’s absolutely vulgar.
In this 2005 conversation, Trump said,
“I’m automatically attracted to beautiful women — I just start kissing them, it’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ’em by the pussy.”
After the nation collectively showed their outrage over Trump’s vulgar remarks about sexual assault, Trump gave an “apology”…if you can call it that. Then at Sunday night’s second Presidential debate, Trump gave his big excuse for his disgusting words. He said it was “locker room talk.”
No, seriously….he thinks that bragging about sexually assaulting women is merely boy banter.
Well it turns out there are a whole bunch of professional athletes who took offense to Trump’s new excuse. And now the people who use locker rooms for a living have a few things to say to Donny.
I haven't heard that one in any locker rooms https://t.co/Ci8NXOgFcI

I'm offended as an athlete that @realDonaldTrump keeps using this "locker room talk" as an excuse.

As an athlete, I've been in locker rooms my entire adult life and uh, that's not locker room talk.

Just for reference. I work in a locker room (every day)… that is not locker room talk. Just so you know…

Hahaha, "locker room talk." Like that fucking inflatable clown dummy would ever make it in a legit locker room.
— Chris Kluwe (@ChrisWarcraft) October 10, 2016
Yes. That's not locker room talk. https://t.co/egzC03ooQA

Claiming Trump's comments are "locker room banter" is to suggest they are somehow acceptable. They aren't.

4. Politics isn't sport.
The White House isn't a locker room.
Respecting women (et al.) seems a desperately low bar to fail in 2016.— John Amaechi OBE (@JohnAmaechi) October 10, 2016
PSA: sexual advances without consent is NOT locker room talk.

What kind of fucked up locker rooms has Donald Trump been in…
— Brett Anderson (@BrettAnderson35) October 10, 2016
"Grab them by the pussy" isn't talk from any locker room I've ever been in. It's a Ted Bundy quote. #debate2016

I was a 5 sport athlete in high school.
5 years of college football.
12 years in the NFL.
Guys don't talk like that in locker rooms. #Trump— Sage Rosenfels (@SageRosenfels18) October 8, 2016
Please stop saying "locker room talk"
— Jacob Tamme (@JacobTamme) October 10, 2016
"Locker room talk", "Boys will be boys", "Harmless banter". These are not valid excuses for behavior. Never have been, never will be.

This is like real? I'm waiting for people to come out and say that this is a joke
— Chris Conley (@_flight17_) October 10, 2016
Apart from this debate and apart from the election. I'm appalled how many of you are tweeting me that talking and acting that way is ok
— Chris Conley (@_flight17_) October 10, 2016
I showered after our game but I feel like I need another one after watching the debate.
