James Comey just told Congress that they found nothing in the new emails to change their original conclusion that no charges will be filed against Hillary.
FBI Director James Comey dropped an absolute bombshell with less than two weeks before the presidential election. Comey sent a letter to Republican Congressional Committee Chairs saying that he was examining new emails to see if they may be relevant to Hillary’s case.
Despite what the Trump campaign has been claiming about this letter, Comey did not say they were “re-opening” an investigation into Hillary and her emails. He never used that language. He said they were reviewing the emails to see IF there was anything in them that was pertinent.
Well, as it turns out, the Republicans’ high hopes that Comey was about to announce an indictment because of something they found on Anthony Weiner’s laptop–that’s all it turned out to be…wishful thinking.
On Sunday, James Comey told Congress that, after reviewing these new emails, they found nothing to change his original announcement in July, that there would be no charges against Hillary Clinton.
“Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July,” Comey said in the letter to top Republicans on the House Oversight Committee.
