Ex-CIA Director Slams Trump For His Speech To CIA

Trump went to the CIA Saturday and gave a speech that infuriated many in the intelligence community…the former CIA Director included.

Following Trump’s remarks at the CIA on Saturday, former CIA Director John Brennan was reported to be “deeply saddened” over Trump’s speech.

Nick Shapiro, theĀ former CIA deputy chief of staff, said that Brennan thinks that TrumpĀ “should be ashamed of himself” for his “despicable display of self-aggrandizement.”

The Hill reports,

“During his remarks on Saturday, Trump took the opportunity to blast the media for their coverage of the inauguration, accusing news networks of lying about the size of the crowd that attended the event. “Honestly it looked like a million and half people, whatever it was it was. But it went all the way back to the Washington Monument … and by mistake I get this network and it showed an empty field, and it said we drew 250,000 people. Now that’s not bad, but its a lie,” Trump said.”

In typical Trump fashion, he also lied about the “dishonest media,” saying they made up a fake “feud” between himself and the CIA. Never mind the fact that Trump has been the one comparing the CIA to Nazis and putting quotes around the word intelligence.

He tried to make the whole thing political, telling the audience of non-political members of the CIA that he’s sure most of them voted for him.

Basically the entire address was nothing more than another campaign rally speech.

Trump made his entire visit to the CIA all about himself. He stood on what the CIA considers hallowed ground in front of the wall of anonymous stars representing agents who lost their lives serving this country.

The whole thing was just another embarrassment. And it did absolutely nothing to repair his relationship with the intelligence community.

Here’s Trump’s full speech.
