Maxine Waters is not backing down from the Russia investigation. And she’s not mincing words. She firmly believes that Trump will be impeached.
Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters from California believes that the investigation into Trump’s ties to Russia “will lead to impeachment” of the President.
On Thursday, Waters appeared on MSNBC to talk about Attorney General Jeff Sessions with host Craig Melvin. She called for the resignation of Sessions because of his ties to Russia, and also because he lied about those ties under oath to Congress. Waters said that Sessions “cannot be impartial” in overseeing the investigation into the Trump administration.
The Congresswoman then called for her fellow Democrats to remain resolved to get to the bottom of the Trump administration’s ties to and/or collusion with Russia. She said, “…we got to drill down. We’ve got to connect the dots. And we’ve got to follow the money.”
Waters went on to say,
“Remember, I’ve been saying this for a long time and even though some people didn’t like it, I said that I believe that if we do the work, it will lead to impeachment of the president. And I still mean that.”
Melvin then asked her if the goal was impeachment or finding the facts.
Waters answered “You can’t separate the two.” The Congresswoman firmly believes that one will lead to the other.
