Alec Baldwin’s back! And this time he’s taking on Trump’s unhinged rally in Phoenix Tuesday night. Absolutely brilliant!
Thursday night, Alec Baldwin brought back his brilliant impersonation of Donald Trump in an appearance on SNL’s Weekend Update: Summer Edition. Baldwin took aim at Trump’s recent unhinged rally in Phoenix where he tried to clear up his ridiculous comments following the violence in Charlottesville.
The skit opens with “Trump” walking on stage with dark glasses on because he burned his eyes looking directly at Monday’s solar eclipse. Then he says,
“Now, a lot of people don’t know this, but you can damage your eyes from looking at an eclipse. No one could have predicted this. They couldn’t have. I figured it out all out by myself.”
Baldwin’s Trump went on to say that he wanted to clear up his previous controversial comments about the hate and violence in Charlottesville.
“There was a tragic victim that came out of Charlottesville: Me!” Trump tells the happy crowd.
“I wanted to set the record straight about exactly what I said and I have the transcript right here.”
He then pulls out a piece of paper and starts reading, “I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there…,” stopping when he suddenly realizes he was reading the wrong paper.
SNL also brought back the Grim Reaper as Steve Bannon. Baldwin’s Trump told the audience that he wanted to take a minute to say good-bye to Bannon.
“You’ve only made me more powerful,” Bannon tells Trump.
Then Trump announces to the audience, “Steve is going on to Breitbart. He’ll be fighting the good fight against globalist cucks like my son-in-law, Jared.”
Bannon responds, “I’m going to crush you.”
