“I think Trump is the most deplorable person I’ve ever met in my life.”
One thing is for sure. Auntie Maxine don’t play.
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) was the first member of Congress to talk about the actual impeachment of Donald Trump. And I think before this is all over, we will look back and say that Waters was spot on from the beginning.
On Friday morning, Waters appeared on Morning Joe on MSNBC. And, in typical Maxine fashion, she pulled no punches with Trump.
Waters told Mika and Joe how she really feels about Trump.
“I think he’s the most deplorable person I’ve ever met in my life.”
She also said that she has “no hope” that Gen. Kelly will be able to rein in the president.
“We’ve been talking about this president becoming presidential or transitioning long enough. It’s not going to happen.”
“He is a flawed man with no real values, and no real appreciation or understanding for government or public policy. No, I have no hope that anybody is going to be able to contain him, or that he’s going to change.”
The outspoken Democrat did point out that before Trump can be impeached we have to learn all of the facts and Mueller has to complete his full investigation. But Waters feels certain that when it’s all said and done, Trump will, in fact, be impeached.
She said,
“I have my hopes in Mueller, as most people do. I think he’s going to connect the dots. And I think we’re nearing a constitutional crisis.”
“I’m betting on when the dots are connected, and Mueller is able to show collusion, I’m banking on the patriotism of some of the Americans, most of them. They won’t be able to stand with him if it is proven that they colluded, that they undermined our democracy, interfered with our elections.”
“They’re going to be able to see that this president is dangerous, and I do believe that patriotism will win.”
When Maxine goes after Trump she doesn’t scream and yell. She calmly and intelligently makes her case. And in the process she absolutely shreds him.
