Saturday Night Live took on Trump, Mike Pence, and Kellyanne Conway this week. And it was hilarious!
After taking last week off, Alec Baldwin returned to SNL Saturday night with his brilliant portrayal of Donald Trump. In the show’s opening skit, Baldwin’s Trump was at a “Trucker Hat Rally” in “Harass-burg”, Pennsylvania to talk about his tax reform plan. But instead of staying focused on taxes, Trump went off on rants about Mike Pence, Bob Corker, and Rex Tillerson.
“We love America, don’t we? That’s why I had Mike Pence go to the Colts game on Sunday and when those players knelt during the anthem I told him to get the hell out of there,” Baldwin’s Trump said. “But don’t worry, we’re taking Mike’s Colts tickets and donating them to Puerto Rico. They just have to fly themselves to Indiana and book their own hotel. Because at some point, they have to start doing things for themselves.”
Trump then called Pence, played by Beck Bennett, several times and had him leave a Starbucks and a gay wedding.
“I know you hate this word Mike, but abort, abort, vamonos,” Trump said after finding out Pence was at a gay wedding. “Outrageous. no one should disrespect the sanctity of marriage like that, as it says in my favorite verse of the Bible – double Corinthians – marriage is between a man and a woman, then another woman, then another woman, and maybe one more if you’ve got it in you.”
Baldwin’s Trump finished the rally by addressing Eminem’s rap attack this week.
“Eminem apparently did a freestyle rap on the BET network the other day, and he rapped some very nasty things about me, and very soon I’m going to release a response rap on the White Entertainment Network, HGTV.”
Another hilarious skit this week featured Kate McKinnon playing Kellyanne Conway as Pennywise the Clown in a parody of the horror movie It. In the skit, “Kellywise the Dancing Clown” tries to lure Anderson Cooper, played by Alex Moffat, into the sewer. She also tries to convince Cooper to put her back on TV by promising him some “crazy, crazy quotes.”
“Okay, Puerto Rico was actually was worse before Hurricane Maria,” Kellyanne says. “And the hurricane actually did blow some buildings back together.”
On Weekend Update, Colin Jost and Michael Che shredded Harvey Weinstein saying he should be in prison. They also went after Trump for his Executive Order on healthcare this week.
“Several aides to President Trump are reportedly saying that he is unraveling and losing a step. OK, but what point exactly was he ever in step? Because from here it’s been like nine months of watching a cat try to walk in Timberlands.”
