California billionaire Tom Steyer is making the case for a Trump impeachment. And he’s hoping for a groundswell from the American people to join him.
On Friday, Tom Steyer announced that he will be spending at least $10 million on a new television ad campaign calling for the impeachment of Donald Trump.
In his new ad, Steyer makes the case that Trump should be impeached because he has violated the Constitution by obstructing justice at the FBI. Steyer says that Trump’s threats to shut down news organizations he doesn’t like, taking money from foreign governments, and pushing us to the brink of nuclear war are also impeachable offenses.
Steyer says in the ad,
“People in Congress and his own administration know this president is a clear and present danger who is mentally unstable and armed with nuclear weapons. And they do nothing.”
In addition to the $10 million Steyer is spending on television ads, he says he will also be spending another seven figures on an accompanying digital ad campaign.
Steyer’s goal is to create a groundswell with the American people, which will hopefully lead to them demanding that Congress takes action on impeachment.
The California billionaire is also considering running against fellow Democrat Dianne Feinstein for her Senate seat.

“Donald Trump has brought us to the brink of nuclear war, obstructed justice, and taken money from foreign governments. We need to impeach this dangerous president.”
