Trump To Pregnant Grieving Widow Of Green Beret: ‘He Knew What He Signed Up For’

After two weeks Trump finally got around to calling the widows of the Green Berets who were killed in Niger. And he proved once again that he is an insensitive prick with no soul.

On Tuesday night, Miami’s local ABC affiliate reported that Trump finally made a phone call Tuesday evening to the widow of Army Sgt. La David Johnson, who was killed in an ambush in Niger on October 4.

Myeshia Johnson is not only grieving for her husband. She’s also six months pregnant and taking care of the couple’s two young children, ages six and two.

Any normal human being would have compassion for this woman. But this is Donald Trump we’re talking about here. So of course he only made her feel worse.

Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL) was with Johnson when she received Trump’s call. She told ABC10 that Trump said to the pregnant grieving widow, “He knew what he signed up for …but when it happens it hurts anyway.”

“Yes, he said it,” Wilson said. “It’s so insensitive. He should have not have said that. He shouldn’t have said it.”

Right before Trump called, Johnson was told that she couldn’t have an open casket funeral for her husband. Then she hears Trump’s insensitive remarks. ABC10 said,

“Trump didn’t discuss any of the details of the ambush, or said the Pentagon was conducting an investigation. Instead, he focused on questions about whether or not he had offered his condolences to the families of the fallen.”

After she spoke to Trump, Johnson met her husband’s casket which arrived shortly after the phone call at Miami International Airport.

“Wilson witnessed as the widow, who is expecting their third baby in January, leaned over the U.S. flag that was draping his casket. Her pregnant belly was shaking against the casket as she sobbed uncontrollably. Their daughter stood next to her stoically. Their toddler waited in the arms of a relative.”
