And it was freaking hilarious.
Saturday Night Live returned this weekend, and one of the highlights was the appearance of Donald Trump, Jr. and Eric on “Weekend Update.”
Alex Moffat and Mikey Day brought back their brilliant impersonations of Trump’s sons Saturday night. They joined anchors Michael Che and Colin Jost to discuss the recent indictments handed down in the Mueller investigation. And they were absolutely hilarious.
Day’s Don, Jr. started by saying that no one in his family knew anything about anyone doing anything wrong.
“We’d like to make it very clear that our father did nothing wrong. Some people who barely worked for him did. But Dad knew nothing about it. And the same goes for Eric and myself.”
Jost responded, “Well, I definitely believe you that Eric had no idea what was going on.”
Later Don, Jr. tried to shift the focus to Hillary.
“As we learned from Donna Brazile,” he said, “Crooked Hillary and company did some shady back room deals with the Russians and tried to rig the election in her favor.”
“Just like dad,” Eric added.
Michael Che also made a more serious plea to the President about the Russia investigation. Che asked Trump, for once in his life, to please act like an adult about these charges. (Yeah, good luck with that Michael.)
“If you want to live-tweet Morning Joe or Cupcake Wars or whatever else you watch, fine. But indictments are important and you work for us — so go put on your baggy suit, fold your hair nice, and answer all of our questions face-to-face like the public servant that you are.”
Here’s the Cold Open with Trump visiting Manafort at his home arrest. It was great too.
