Man Arrested After Threatening To Kill Everyone At CNN: ‘Fake News. I’m Coming To Gun You All Down’

Trump won’t stop attacking CNN. And now a man has followed Trump’s lead and threatened to kill everyone at CNN because of “fake news.”

This president is irresponsible and dangerous. And now we’re seeing real life consequences to his reckless rhetoric.

A man from Michigan has been arrested by federal authorities after he made multiple phone calls to CNN employees threatening to kill them all because of “fake news.”

According to an arrest affidavit released by the FBI on Friday Brandon Griesemer told a CNN operator, “I am on my way right now to gun the fuckin’ CNN cast down.”

Between January 9 and January 10 Griesemer made nearly two dozen threatening calls to CNN’s headquarters in Atlanta. In one of the calls he said that he was “coming to gun you all down” because CNN is “fake news.”

30 minutes later Griesemer called again and said, “I’m coming for you, CNN. I’m smarter than you. More powerful than you. I have more guns than you. More manpower. Your cast is about to get gunned down in a matter of hours.”

Huffington reports,

“An investigator working for CNN was quickly able to trace the call back to Griesemer and spoke to him over the phone while recording the conversation. The caller identified himself as “Brandon,” and the investigator said it sounded the same as the voice making threats.”

Griesemer’s father told the Washington Post that his son “didn’t mean any of it.”

“He didn’t know what he was saying, the seriousness of it,” the father said on Monday. “We’re not even gun owners or anything like that. We don’t have any, neither does he.”

In a statement on Tuesday CNN said,

“We take any threats of CNN employees or workplaces, around the world, extremely seriously. This one is no exception. We have been in touch with local and federal law enforcement throughout, and have taken all necessary measures to ensure the safety of our people.”

Officials told CNN that Griesemer has also previously made threatening calls to a mosque. In September, he called the Islamic Center of Ann Arbor where he “made derogatory comments relating to the mosque and Muslims.” He later told police that he made the threatening calls because he was “angry.”

This is the danger with Trump’s hateful rhetoric. Last year, a crazed gunman went to shoot up a pizzeria because he read on the internet that Hillary was running a child sex ring. And now we’ve got another crazy man who has been listening to Donald Trump’s irresponsible words threatening to kill people.

We’ve been lucky so far. But someone is going to get hurt. And Trump will be complicit.
