This is exactly what this cold winter needs…Nancy Pelosi and drag queens! She’s an expert at wrangling politicians. Now let’s see how she does with RuPaul’s queens!
It’s just a fact. Democrats are more fun than Republicans. I mean, can you imagine Mitch McConnell or Paul Ryan agreeing to be a guest judge for a drag queen contest? They’d both go into a bout of the vapors at the mere thought of it.
But not House minority leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). She’s game!
VH1 announced on Thursday that Pelosi will be a guest judge on the new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.
If you’re unfamiliar with the show, it’s a reality TV competition that features drag queens going through a series of challenges each week that ends with the top two contestants lip-syncing for the power to send one queen home.
“Competition will be fierce as the queens shift their strategies and work extra hard to not only impress RuPaul and the judges, but to also impress each other,” VH1 said in a statement.
Nancy Pelosi will be joining other celebrity guest judges, including actors Vanessa Hudgens, Tituss Burgess and Kristin Chenoweth.
On Thursday, Pelosi tweeted, “All I can say is, you betta werk!” quoting a famous RuPaul catch phrase. “Had a fabulous time with @RuPaul and good luck to all the queens. #DragRaceNancy”

Randy Barbato, executive producer of Drag Race and co-founder of production company World of Wonder, said that Pelosi was a “fierce servant of our nation (and) ‘Drag Race’s’ mission is to teach the children and honor those who fight on our behalf.”
Barbato wouldn’t reveal anything about Pelosi’s episode, but he said that Pelosi “was absolutely delightful and the entire cast and crew were moved by her visit.”
