CNN’s Chris Cuomo Calls Out Rick Santorum For Evangelicals’ Hypocrisy On Trump -VIDEO

Evangelicals are showing incredible hypocrisy with their continued support of Donald Trump. And it needs to be called out. On Wednesday morning, Chris Cuomo did just that.

On Wednesday morning, CNN’s Chris Cuomo interviewed conservative Trump supporter Rick Santorum. And it was a real struggle for the former Senator.

Cuomo asked Santorum about the major hypocrisy going on with evangelicals still supporting Donald Trump after they tried to destroy Bill Clinton for his affair with Monica Lewinsky.

“They seem to just be choosing policy over piety all of a sudden,” Cuomo said.

Santorum tried to argue that Christians are all about forgiveness because people are flawed. Funny, that’s not at all what they were saying when they were going after a Democrat for sexual misconduct.

According to Santorum, Christians only care about policy, not about the person.

“You were in there during the Clinton years. This was not what was being said by this voting bloc then,” Cuomo pointed out.

“This was not what was being said by you back then,” Cuomo continued. “You called for Clinton to resign because he was going to be impeached and Lewinsky was too big a cloud over everything and he had to go.”

“When it suits the politics, the piety is great. And when it doesn’t suit the politics, the piety is easily excused. And that is hypocrisy.”

Santorum tried to defend the hypocrisy. But he failed miserably. He failed because there is no good defense for how Christians are accepting and excusing Trump’s indefensible behavior.

I applaud Chris Cuomo for calling this out. It’s true hypocrisy that the family values party is supporting this immoral president. And it needs to be called out over and over again.
