CNN’s Don Lemon absolutely nailed Trump Wednesday night for his lies. “This is a deliberate and coordinated effort to save his presidency to cast doubt on the Russian investigation by repeating a lie.”
Donald Trump and his surrogates continue to push the claim that Obama placed spies in his campaign for political reasons. There’s absolutely no evidence of that. And it doesn’t even make sense. Why on Earth would Obama spy on Trump and then never tell the American people before the election that he was working with the Russians? It makes no sense. But that’s not stopping Trump from pushing this ridiculous lie.
On Wednesday night, CNN’s Don Lemon weighed in on the matter. And he shredded Trump for making the outrageous claim.
Lemon said that Trump was trying to “save his presidency” by spreading “the biggest lie of all.” “It’s not true. It’s a lie,” the CNN host said. “James Clapper, the former director of national intelligence did not in any way admit to the false charges, spies in the Trump campaign.”
“The president of the United States is lying to us over and over and over and over again,” Lemon said. “We’ve all seen it with our very own eyes and we’ve heard it with our own ears.”
“This is a deliberate and coordinated effort to save his presidency to cast doubt on the Russian investigation by repeating a lie.”
Lemon also pointed out that Trump uses the constant repetition of the lies to muddy the waters and con the American people. “That repetition is a key part of the strategy here,” Lemon said. “Because if you hear him say the same thing over and over and over it gets into your head. You may even start to wonder if there’s some truth to it. That’s exactly what the president and his allies want.”
