We’ve reached the point in this shit show where one Trump lawyer goes after another Trump lawyer. Snakes eating snakes. We’re gonna need more popcorn.
On Tuesday, long-time Trump lawyer Jay Goldberg appeared on MSNBC’s The Beat with Ari Melber. And he totally threw new Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani under the bus.
Melber asked Goldberg right up front if he thought that Giuliani was doing a good job representing the president.
Without skipping a beat Goldberg answered, “I don’t think so.” And he didn’t stop there.
“For him to go on Sean Hannity‘s program without fully debriefing the president seems to me the height of unpreparedness,” Goldberg said. “I can’t imagine a lawyer for client going on television without fully debriefing the client about what the client expects and wants.”
Goldberg, who previously handled all of Trump’s divorces, said that he advised Trump against ever hiring Giuliani.
“I told him that I didn’t think that Giuliani was the right person for him to select,” Goldberg said. “I thought that there were much better people that he could use in terms of negotiating with Mueller.”
“I thought Rudy would come into the case with an intent to take the spotlight off Trump, and in some ways seek to aggrandize himself — whether it be at the expense of Trump or not.”
