Kate McKinnon brought her brilliant Ruth Bader Ginsburg impression to Weekend Update on the premier of Saturday Night Live this weekend. And she even brought her own calendars.
The new 44th season of SNL premiered on Saturday. And it was hilarious. They opened the show with Matt Damon playing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. And then, on Weekend Update, Kate McKinnon brought her brilliant impersonation of Ruth Bader Ginsburg back to “Gins-burn” Kavanaugh.
Weekend Update with Michael Che and Colin Jost took several shots at Kavanaugh. “If you took a shot for every time Kavanaugh lied about his yearbook, you’d be as drunk as Brett Kavanaugh was in the summer of ‘82,” Che said. But the best part of Weekend Update was McKinnon as RBG.
McKinnon’s Ginsburg even brought her own calendars to the show.
“You want to see my calendar from 1982? This ought to be fun. Turn 100. Break glass ceiling,” she said.
Then Ginsburg pulled out her 2018 calendar which had two big words written on it, “DON’T DIE.”
“That’s it. That’s all I got to do,” she said. “I’ve been alive so long I’m restarting my life cycle, like a cicada. I’m going through puberty again. I got all sorts of feelings about Riverdale.”
McKinnon’s Ginsburg ended the segment by talking about welcoming Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
“We’re gonna be very welcoming. The guy likes drinking games so much we got one planned for him. It’s called quarters. It’s when me and Sotomayor put a roll of quarters in a sock and beat the hell out of him.”
