Republicans all over the country are lying about protecting pre-existing conditions. And Tuesday night Rachel Maddow nailed them for it.
The way that Republicans have been campaigning on saving pre-existing conditions protections has been driving me insane. They are flat-out lying. They have spent years voting to repeal Obamacare. One of the most popular parts of Obamacare is the pre-existing conditions protection.
Republicans have voted repeatedly to specifically strip those protections. Republican governors are literally, right now, suing to take away the protections.
Just Monday the Trump administration put out new rules allowing states to sell insurance that does not cover pre-existing conditions. Yet Donald Trump and Republicans all over the country are telling voters that they will protect them. It’s infuriating.
But I was very happy to see that it was driving MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow crazy too. I can’t believe that more of the press isn’t calling out this bullshit.
On Tuesday night Maddow played clips of Republicans Martha McSally, Ted Cruz, Dean Heller, Kevin Cramer, and Dana Rohrabacher all lying about their positions on pre-existing conditions. Rachel called out each one of them for the obvious liars that they are.
“Actually, Republicans, you are already on the record fighting like crazy to get rid of protections for Americans with pre-existing conditions. But nice try,” Maddow said.
