For everyone who commented on Donald Trump showing restraint by not attacking Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, you spoke too soon. Tuesday night at his rally in Mississippi, Trump went into a whole rant mocking Dr. Ford, her testimony, and the Me Too movement.
The fact is, anytime Donald Trump shows restraint about something controversial you can bank on it being short-lived. He’s just not capable of restraint for very long. He proved that on Tuesday night, when he went into a whole rant mocking Christine Blasey Ford and the Me Too movement.
Trump complained, “What he’s going through….36 years ago this happened.”
And then mocking Dr. Ford’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week, Trump said, “I had one beer! I had one beer!”
He continued, “How did you get home? I don’t remember.” “How did you get there? I don’t remember.” “Where was the place? I don’t remember.” “How many years ago was it? I don’t know.”
At that point the crowd erupted into thunderous applause.
“I don’t know! I don’t know!” Trump mocked.
He later went on to talk about how terrible the Me Too movement is for men. Trump apparently believes that the real victims in sexual assault are the men who are accused. It’s crazy.
It looks like the restraint against attacking Dr. Ford is over. Trump can’t fake it for very long. He is who he is. And that’s a vile POS.
