Every American with a cell phone received an emergency presidential alert test on Wednesday. And Twitter responded in the hilarious way that Twitter does best.
“Congrats to Tiffany Trump, who just received her first ever text from her dad!”
At 2:18 pm eastern time on Wednesday, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Communications Commission tested the new Presidential Alert system. The system was set up so that, in the case of an emergency, the President of the United States can get a message out to the American people in the fastest way possible. It was tested for the first time on Wednesday.
The message read: “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”
Within minutes of the alert going off, people were on Twitter making jokes about getting texts from Trump.
Like many other people, I wasn’t at all happy about getting an emergency message from Trump. God only knows what kind of crazy bullshit Trump will try to do with this system. But my crabby disposition improved greatly after I saw these tweets.
Here’s a few of them. I hope they brighten your day too.
*get presidential alert*

My son said if he were president he’d send an alert that read “Hi. Bacon. Pancakes.” To which I replied, “Yep, that’s how we think this may go…”#PresidentialAlert
