Fox News has erupted into a full-blown civil war according to recent reports from insiders of the divisive network. Sean Hannity is reportedly ready to quit the network.

Civil War Erupts at Fox News
Fox News has come to be known as “official state media” by many in the wake of their ongoing love affair with all things Trump. However, reports of an in-house revolt are threatening to tear apart that relationship.
Vanity Fair reported earlier this week of a “widening chasm between the network’s opinion hosts and the network’s news division” which has resulting in an ongoing “cold civil war” that has been going on since Roger Ailes “was forced to resign after facing a barrage of sexual harassment accusations from female Fox News staffers” back in July 2016.
Continuing, Vanity Fair contributor Gabriel Sherman reported that:
Fox journalists, bristling at being branded an arm of the Trump White House, are lobbying Fox News C.E.O. Suzanne Scott and President Jay Wallace to rein in Fox & Friends, Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs and Pirro. “Reporters are telling management that we’re being defined by the worst people on our air,” a frustrated senior Fox staffer told me.
Sean Hannity Reportedly Looking to Quit Fox News
Vanity Fair goes on to report that there is no love lost between Fox News and controversial host – and avid Trump supporter – Sean Hannity.
According to Vanity Fair:
Sources said Hannity is angry at the Murdochs’ firing of Ailes and Bill Shine, Hannity’s close friend and former producer. Hannity believes the Murdochs are out to get Trump. “Hannity told Trump last year that the Murdochs hate Trump, and Hannity is the only one holding Fox together,” a source who heard the conversation told me. Hannity has told friends that he intends to leave Fox when his contract expires in early 2021, two people who’ve spoken with him said.
Fox News Reportedly Backing Off Its Support for Trump
Vanity Fair went on to report that Fox News may be moving towards offering less support for the Trump administration in the upcoming weeks and months. The final say on the matter will be decided by Fox Corporation Chairman and CEO Lachlan Murdoch, Rupert Murdoch’s oldest son, who is a Libertarian conservative and not a MAGA Trump Republican.
Fox News sources close to Lachlan told Vanity Fair that he has privately expressed annoyance regarding Trump. “He doesn’t like Trump,” a senior Fox staffer stated, adding: “There’s a lot of talk of the direction of the network changing under Lachlan.”
There is also speculation that Lachland intends to sell off Fox News and that recent moves such as the hiring of two-time interim chairman of the Democratic National Committee and the recent appointment of known Trump-critic Paul Ryan to Fox’s board serve as ample evidence of Lachlan’s mindset in regards to Trump.
Trump Lashes Out at Fox News
Recent events such as the controversy surrounding Media Matters‘ release of audio recordings of Tucker Carlson “using white nationalist rhetoric and making racist comments” have added fuel as has Judge Jeanine Pirro’s suspension from the network after making disparaging and racist remarks questioning Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s patriotism.
Trump lashed out at Fox News on Sunday demanding their full support for network hosts Judge Jeanine Pirro and Tucker Carlson using his favorite platform – Twitter:
Bring back @JudgeJeanine Pirro. The Radical Left Democrats, working closely with their beloved partner, the Fake News Media, is using every trick in the book to SILENCE a majority of our Country. They have all out campaigns against @FoxNews hosts who are doing too well. Fox must stay strong and fight back with vigor. Stop working soooo hard on being politically correct, which will only bring you down, and continue to fight for our Country. The losers all want what you have, don’t give it to them. Be strong & prosper, be weak & die! Stay true to the people that got you there. Keep fighting for Tucker, and fight hard for @JudgeJeanine. Your competitors are jealous – they all want what you’ve got – NUMBER ONE. Don’t hand it to them on a silver platter. They can’t beat you, you can only beat yourselves!
Two days later, Trump renewed his criticism of the network, lashing out at Fox’s hard news anchors, connecting them to his imagined rival CNN:
“Were @FoxNews weekend anchors, @ArthelNeville and @LelandVittert, trained by CNN prior to their ratings collapse? In any event, that’s where they should be working, along with their lowest rated anchor, Shepard Smith!” he tweeted. \
Time will tell what the future holds for Fox News and Sean Hannity, but it is worth noting that conservatives have been predicting the fall of Fox News, as we know it, since 2013. For more on that check out “The End Of Fox News Is Near – Fox News Insiders And Conservatives Agree.”
