In Massive Power Grab Trump Administration Intervenes with FDA Ahead of Vaccine Release -

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the Trump administration is corrupt through and through. This latest move with the Food and Drug Administration is just one more example.

This new power grab from the FDA is stunning, even for Trump. He is paranoid about anything negative coming out ahead of the election. He’s determined to get the COVID vaccines out before the country votes on November 3. And to ensure that, he’s taken over full control of the FDA.

Over the weekend, the New York Times reported that Alex Azar, the secretary of health and human services, banned all of the health agencies in the country, including the FDA, from signing any new rules, particularly in regards to vaccines.

Azar sent out a memorandum to the agencies in HHS last week, saying that “all power” is now “reserved for the secretary.”

That means that the Trump administration is taking power away from the scientists and experts and putting it into the president’s political stooge, giving Trump complete control over the vaccines.

So why would they do that?

Are they trying to take over the vetting and approval process for the coronavirus vaccines? Are they trying to turn the vaccines into a political weapon? It certainly seems so.

Dr. Mark McClellan formerly headed the FDA. He now runs the health policy center at Duke University. He told the Times that he’s extremely concerned with this raw power grab.

“We’re in the midst of a pandemic, when trust in the public health agency is needed more than ever,” McClellan said. “So, I’m not sure what is to be gained with a management change with respect to FDA when they are doing such critical work.”
