Chuck Schumer told Trump, “You’ll be a failure.”
On Tuesday night, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow interviewed the new Senate Minority Leader, Chuck Schumer. If you’ve been worried that the Dems might roll over on everything Trump and the GOP are about to do, this will give you some hope.
Chuck Schumer is the new top Democrat in the U.S. Senate. And he talked with Rachel Maddow about how ideologues are manipulating Trump and the error of Trump antagonizing U.S. intelligence agencies.
Another thing Maddow and Schumer discussed was the Supreme Court.
Rachel said, “Senator Jeff Merkley from Oregon says they stole a Supreme Court seat.”
Schumer replied, “That’s a fair statement.”
“We are not going to settle on a Supreme Court nominee. If they don’t appoint someone who’s really good, we’re going to oppose him tooth and nail. Now then they won’t have 60 votes to put in an out-of-the-mainstream nominee, and then they’ll have to make a choice.”
“But we are not going to make it easy for them to pick a Supreme Court Justice.”
Schumer also said, “It’s hard for me to imagine any nominee that Donald Trump would choose that would get Republican support that we could support.”
Rachel replied, “And so you would do your best to hold the seat open.”
Schumer answered, “Absolutely.”
