Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez expertly trolls conservatives making them look like complete fools.

Progressive firebrand Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has become a favorite target for conservatives since she was elected to Congress.

As fact-checking website Snopes reported earlier this year:

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) became a favorite target of conservative trolls after winning election to the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2018. The freshman lawmaker was subjected to a number of false rumors, most of which focused on her inexperience (at age 29 she was the youngest woman ever elected to Congress), her financial status (she was a bartender before running for election), or, inexplicably, her dance moves.

However, Ocasio-Cortez is winning the battle with conservatives as illustrated by the following example from early Saturday morning.

Thursday afternoon, former banker, stockbroker, and author John LeFevre posted a tweet falsely claiming that Ocasio-Cortez has a low credit score, multiple evictions, and “an empty resume.”

[Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] has a 430 credit score, two evictions, and an empty résumé. Just two months ago, she couldn’t afford an apartment in DC. Now, the Democratic leadership has put her on the Financial Services Committee & the media is saying that her Green New Deal will “reshape” the economy

Ocasio-Cortez responded at 1:48 AM on Saturday morning by humiliating LeFevre with a link to a Snopes article that already debunked his claims.

The right has gotten increasingly desperate w/spreading targeted rumors about me lately. Someone made up a meme that led to @snopes disproving this: … (Also, I had to live alone in my family’s apt after my dad died, so the eviction lie is especially bad)

Ocasio-Cortez quickly posted a follow-up, that addressed the “sad” state of affairs within the GOP:

“This stuff is really sad. The GOP is so intellectually bankrupt that they no longer engage to debate issues in good faith, but instead seek to lie, distort, name-call, target, & destroy people/communities w any means possible. It’s a virus and a race to the bottom,” she tweeted.

Ocasio-Cortez completed her Twitter-fest pointing out the inconsistencies within GOP attacks.

“It’s pretty wild that the GOP can’t decide whether they’re going to run with the conspiracy theory that I’m secretly rich, or the exaggeration & mockery of my family’s struggle after my dad died during the financial crisis. Instead, they decide to defy logic and run with both.”

It is worth noting that Republican Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas was thoroughly trashed after he had a meltdown on Twitter after Ocasio-Cortez unveiled her Green New Deal.

“The Democrats’ ‘Green New Deal’ brings to mind an insight from Churchill: Socialism may begin with the best of intensions, [sic] but it always ends with the Gestapo,” he tweeted.

As one might expect, his remarks were swiftly mocked by notables such as tennis legend Martina Navratilova.
