Trump Campaign Working on Contingency Plan to Bypass Voting Results and Steal the Election -

This is alarming. The Trump campaign is not trying to win the election by getting the most votes. They are hatching a plan to steal the election by bypassing the ballots altogether.

Earlier this week, The Atlantic reported that Trump is discussing “contingency plans” that would allow him to hold on to the presidency, even if he loses in the vote count in November.

The first part of their scheme involves not conceding the race. Then they plan to pressure red states to cast their electoral votes for Trump, not the winner of the state’s popular vote. They are trying to appoint loyal electors in all of the battleground states where Republicans hold a legislative majority.

Republican Party sources told The Atlantic that the Trump campaign plans to justify this move by claiming voter fraud. It’s worth noting that experts say voter fraud is actually extremely rare in the US.

December 8 is the “safe harbor” deadline to appoint more than 500 electors across the country.

The Trump plan is to ask red-state legislators to ignore the popular vote. Instead, they will pressure them to stay loyal to Trump and cast their electoral votes in his direction. The Trump campaign believes that the longer Trump can cast doubt on the vote count, the more pressure the states will feel to install loyalists before the safe-harbor deadline.

This whole scheme is alarming. Before you dismiss it or think it’s something that could never happen in a country like ours, just take a look at the Republicans’ track record over the past three and a half years. They’ve shown countless times that they will do anything to protect this corrupt president.

I think that we should be prepared for them cheating in any way they possibly can to keep Trump in the White House. It’s going to be up to the Democrats to make sure that doesn’t happen.
